The Amazing Race Canada Makes a Stop at IMC Edmonton

The thrill of The Amazing Race Canada reached new heights during the season 10 finale, and we at International Mascot Corporation (IMC) were honoured to be part of the action! With 11 teams of two racing for the ultimate prize—$250,000 US, a trip for two around the world thanks to Expedia, and two 2024 Chevy Equinox EV RS vehicles—the competition was fierce. But what made it especially exciting for us? Seeing our mascots play a key role in this high-stakes race!

This year’s race covered seven provinces, wrapping up with an epic finish at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Teams didn’t just race to the finish line—they immersed themselves in Edmonton’s vibrant culture, passing through iconic spots like the High-Level Bridge, the University of Alberta’s Butterdome, Stantec Tower, and RAD Torque Raceway.

At IMC, we welcomed the racers to our warehouse with open arms—and, of course, some familiar faces! Racers had to find and deliver a special prop to one of our locally famous mascots to get their next clue. Our mascots, made right here at IMC, pumped up the energy and excitement as the racers sprinted through!

Did you spot some of Edmonton’s favourite mascots? Hunter the Lynx from the Edmonton Oilers, Spike the Elk from the Edmonton Elks, River the Riverhawk from FC Edmonton, and Louie the Lion from the Oil Kings were all there! These mascots weren’t just bystanders—they actively engaged with the teams and the crowd, bringing an extra layer of fun and local flair to the finale of The Amazing Race Canada. By incorporating these beloved mascots, the show tapped into Edmonton’s vibrant sports culture, helping to unite fans and viewers around the city’s most iconic symbols. Their presence not only amplified the excitement but also created a shared sense of pride for Edmontonians, watching their hometown heroes take center stage.

And what a fitting end to the season! Best friends Taylor McPherson and Katie Mulkay became only the second all-female team to win The Amazing Race Canada, making it even more special as they crossed the finish line in their home province of Alberta, right here in Edmonton!

Congratulations to all the participants for their perseverance and grit throughout the race. Want to relive the epic season finale?
